Automobiles in German City Discovered Marked with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Law Enforcement State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Law Enforcement
Officers mentioned they were contacted by a resident who found a vehicle in Hanau covered with red-colored substance

Around 50 cars have been marked with what appears to be blood from a person in the German city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.

Cars, walls and postal boxes were marked, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they announced in a release.

Police report they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a resident observed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish liquid.

The fluid had been placed in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Officers then discovered many other smeared cars and residential walls in the surrounding area.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws prohibiting the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.

Law enforcement report preliminary tests show the substance was most likely human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no clue as to where it came from; authorities are not yet cognizant of any harm in association with the occurrence," they stated.

City officials said they were trying "to unravel the mystery" and have asked to the community for details.

An important official said the attack left him stunned and required to be addressed promptly.

"This act affects the center of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the far-right attack in 2020," he wrote on social media, referring to the death of nine individuals by a assailant aiming at residents of migrant background in February 2020.
